After years of testing, a team of nutritionists, veterinarians and alpaca farmers developed the Alpamin available today, a supplement containing high-quality minerals and vitamins, balanced to meet the specific nutritional requirements of alpacas raised in Europe. Alpamin has been used as a supplement for small camelids by farmers in most Western European countries for 5 years.
Alpamin is a completely balanced vitamin and mineral supplement for alpacas and llamas.
Alpamin supports the quality of the coat, fertility, vitality and immunity of your alpaca. It comes in the form of a tasty pellet and should only be fed as a supplement to high quality fresh grass and hay, which must be available to alpacas in unlimited quantities to provide them with a balanced diet. Alpamin does not provide energy.
However, during the winter period (insufficient protein in hay) and for alpacas that are pregnant, lactating or growing, it is recommended to additionally use a protein supplement such as Alprofos.
Alpamin Dosage
To ensure your alpaca has optimal levels of vitamins and minerals, use the same dose of Alpamin throughout the year.
1-1.5 g of Alpamin per 1 kg of body weight daily (approx. 100 g of Alpamin per adult alpaca).
When feeding the herd, to ensure that the more docile individuals also receive their ration, you can increase it by 20%.
Ingredients:
alfalfa, wheat middlings, barley flakes, oat hulls, sunflower meal, isomaltulose molasses, monocalcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, sodium chloride, magnesium oxide, rape seed feed
Alprofos is a protein supplement in the form of fine granules with an optimal proportion of calcium and phosphorus.
Alprofos should be mixed with Alpamin in the proportion of 0-4 units of Alprofos to 1 unit of Alpamin, depending on the needs of the moment.
In addition to providing alpacas with a constant level of minerals and vitamins throughout the year, it is essential to adjust the protein level in the diet to the physiological state of the animals. The changing protein requirement is due to many factors such as ambient temperature, pregnancy, feeding, growth, animal condition, grass and hay quality..
Nutrition systems based on only one supplement that provides vitamins and minerals as well as protein are not ideal. The problem is that if we want to increase the supply of protein, we will also increase the supply of vitamins and minerals.
That is why specialists recommend separating vitamin and mineral supplementation from protein supplementation. This way, protein supply can be regulated independently.
Alpamin and Alprofos are free from genetically modified plants and their basic ingredient (carrier) is alfalfa (while maintaining the right proportion of calcium and phosphorus).
Ingredients:
alfalfa, wheat middlings, barley, linseed, sunflower meal, isomaltulose molasses, sodium chloride, calcium carbonate, magnesium oxide, linseed oil, monocalcium phosphate
Alpa-Grass is a high-quality mixture of grasses and herbs for alpacas.
In recent years and due to severe drought in many regions of Poland and Europe it has been difficult to collect good hay for alpacas.
For alpacas, it is important that the hay is fine and soft, so it is best to harvest it when it is not very ripe. For this reason, a way to obtain high-quality, appropriate bulk feed was sought, constantly available.
Thanks to the artificial drying of a delicate mixture of grasses and herbs, we have developed and tested a very good product: Alpa-Grass.
Alpa-Grass is a short-cut, tasty, dry mixture of grasses and herbs.
Alpa-Grass composition is suitable for pregnant females, cria and growing animals.
Due to the delicate structure of the cria they can start eating it very early. This helps in the development of the first stomach (C1) and thus supports the development of the cria.
Added herbs and flaxseed support intestinal function. Sainfoin and chicory help create an intestinal environment that is unfavorable for intestinal parasites.
Alpa-Grass has a constant protein level of 12%, low sugar content and an ideal calcium to phosphorus Ca/P ratio.
Alpa-Grass has a very low level of lignin, which makes the product very digestible.
Ingredients:
Fine grass mixture, esparcette, chicory fibre, linseed oil
FosfoBeet is a high-quality, non-molassed beet pulp enriched with phosphorus.
Using a unique production method, phosphorus was added to beet pulp. The result is a high-energy bulk feed with an optimal calcium to phosphorus ratio.
The real source of energy in beet pulp is the easily digestible fibre pectin, which is evenly and easily digested by stomach bacteria.
From the energy point of view, FosfoBeet is a concentrated feed, while from the rumen function point of view, it is a bulk feed.
FosfoBeet is starch-free and low in sugar, which eliminates the risk of rapid fermentation, acidification and disruption of the stomach flora balance.
It is indicated for pregnant and nursing females, growing cria. It is ideal for older or sick animals that need extra energy.
Beet pulp enriched with phosphorus also helps ensure proper bone development in growing cria and helps animals reach sexual maturity more easily.
Dosage:
Maximum 8 g of dry Phosphobeet per 1 kg of alpaca body weight, for an adult alpaca maximum 600 grams.
FosfoBeet should always be served soaked, by pouring 1 l of the dry product with 2-3 l of water 2-3 hours before serving.
Ingredients:
Beet pulp, wheat short meal, disodium phosphate, molasses, palm oil
